MK Dons most successful bosses
MK Dons CEO Neil Hart has announced this morning that a new manager could be named next week. With that in mind I thought this would be the perfect time to take a trip down memory lane and take a look at the best managers to occupy the stadium:MK hot seat.
MK Dons managers ranked by achievements and overall contributions to the club
7. Martin Allen
The stats
55 games, 28 wins, 11 draws, 16 losses,with a win percentage of 50.91%,
About
The sort of man you’d go to war with. Could’ve done something special with more finances. Built the foundations of Ince’s squad, recruiting the likes of Lloyd Dyer and Keith Andrews.
Defensively sound and aided by the goals of Clive Platt and Izale Mcleod, Allen’s Dons went on to finish 4th. Shrewsbury Town awaited in the play-offs, seeing off the men from MK1 over two legs.
A fantastic strike partnership and good quality wingers would be a welcome return to the current regime.

About
Liam Manning, despite his young age is probably one of the most experienced coaches MK Dons have ever had prior to his appointment.
Manning started coaching at Ipswich Town as a twenty year old following his release from the club. West Ham U23’s was followed by an academy director role at the City football group representing New York City FC. The sky blues take over of Belgian second division side Lommel SK provided him with his first taste of senior management. Despite starting the season with only six senior players, thanks to CFG’s strong scouting network Manning led them to a third place finish. Just to put in perspective, not all of his squad spoke English and he was still able to effectively relay his ideas to them.
The ex Tractor boy is a great believer in possession based football, however he does expect his teams to adapt to the opposition when required to do so.
Coming into his post at Milton Keynes he was dealt a good hand by Russel Martin who had assembled a very talented squad for the season ahead. Names like Scott Twine, Matt O’Riley and Harry Darling were key components of the spine of the team. All three players and Manning have gone on to better things.
To this day I still firmly believe he should still be at the helm and could’ve built a really strong culture at Stadium MK. In my opinion poor recruitment and heavy squad over haul put pay to his reign.
